Dear Trace and Beth Embry,
I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your faithfulness and kindness. After hearing you speak years ago at Living Hope A.G. in Indiana and receiving your newsletter (I pray for your ministry every time I receive it.), we needed to ask for help for our oldest son. He was very depressed and suicidal. You took the time out of your busy schedule to hear my concerns, give Godly counsel, and pray for our son and our family. We also received support from our local church and God was so good to us. What a difference! In less than a year his life and outlook as changed so much! I’m no longer living in fear for his life. He started taking art classes, won some art contests and was accepted to the American Academy of Art in Chicago for fall 2012.
He always believed in Jesus, but he suffered terrible self-condemnation. I think he is finally seeing that God made him “different” for a reason. He is very creative and just thinks differently than most people. He still has a hard time “fitting in”, but he has come out of his shell a lot. He’ll be teaching drawing at our homeschool co-op this semester. He wants to use his talents to glorify God and he has hope for the future.
Thank you for your prayers even though our son didn’t need to become one of your students, the conversation we had was a turning point. I have a son who feels God’s love, not condemnation. God bless!
Your sister in Christ,
JK – Indiana
